New York chinatown's are filled with street vendors serving up Northern Chinese style skewer sticks to its patrons so I was very excited that Mrhao in Denver has opened up to cater to this delicious cuisine. I was told by my cousin that this restaurant started out as a food truck that would be posted up on the street serving its customers meat skewers with the appetizing aroma of chili flakes, cumin, and fennel. After being so successful they opened up shop and the customers now have a place to go with air conditioning to enjoy this food. I ordered the lamb, beef, sausage skewers and also had a noodle dish to keep me full. The food was very on par with authentic taste.

This place is pretty decent, and provides a different Chinese cuisine than typically seen in Denver. Yes, the prices can add up if you want to walk out full. I highly recommend trying their staple dishes (Northern China) such as lamb soup, cold noodles versus the grill dishes. You may or may not like it, but it is interesting.
You also get complimentary yogurt drinks with your tab. -

I'm Chinese and went in today to check them out. Really awesome skewers.
They are authentic street stall snack foods you'd find in China. Made me nostalgic for the food whenever I go back.
Definitely check them out if you like Chinese street food or want to try something authentic.
They are a bit pricy but no one else offers this in town.

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and it did not disappoint when we did. Initial hiccup was that the menu we got wasn't exactly English friendly, we found out after the fact that there was a picture menu. We're Asian, but not Chinese so I guess they assumed we could read it. The server was helpful when he came to take our order when we said we weren't sure how to order since we didn't read Chinese.
The seaweed was really good, as well as the sesame sauce tripe. The skewers were good. Scallops and oysters were a bit too garlicky for us but it was still tasty.
